Over the years, Long Meadow Farm (LMF) has transitioned from a hobby farm with one resident pony to a retirement farm for a host of animals, including horses, goats, alpacas, sheep, geese and peafowl. Many of the horses on the farm are from other shelters or are retired draft horses. LMF will be their last stop, and a well-deserved rest, with some retirees living another 10+ years here. Others, including our goats, alpacas and sheep, come from a variety of situations from owners passing or moving away, to just getting too big to handle. Sometimes our goats get here pregnant, so little goats are often a welcome surprise.
